By Car

From Glasgow, drive to Kennacraig which is approximately two and half hours. Take the A82 up Loch Lomond , turning onto the A83 at Tarbet. Follow the signs for Inveraray and Lochgilphead then Tarbert. The ferry terminal of Kennacraig is five miles from Tarbert following the signs for Campbeltown. Please note the ferry terminal is simply a terminal there is no town or village so look for the signs!

By Bus:

By Ferry

Caledonian Macbrayne operate the two hour fifteen minute crossing twice daily from Kennacraig depending on the time of year. The morning sailing into Islay will arrive at Port Ellen in the South of the Island and the afternoon will sail to Port Askaig in the North of the Island. By Air:

British Airways Express run a 35 minute scheduled service, Monday - Saturday from Glasgow Airport to Islay, in the morning and afternoon. This is the quickest way and can provide spectacular views of the islands and Kintyre. This service is operated by Loganair.
